Toy Story is an animated film that follows the adventures of a group of toys led by Woody, a cowboy doll, and Buzz Lightyear, a space ranger action figure. The toys belong to a young boy named Andy and live in his room, coming to life whenever he is not around. However, when Andy receives a new toy, Buzz, Woody becomes jealous and tries to get rid of him. In the process, both Woody and Buzz end up getting lost and must work together to find their way back to Andy before he moves to a new house. Along the way, they encounter other toys and face challenges, including being captured by a toy-hating neighbor. Eventually, Woody and Buzz become friends and return to Andy's room, where they learn the true meaning of being a toy: to bring joy and happiness to their owner.
- Woody: The movie begins with Woody, a pull-string cowboy doll, being the favorite toy of a young boy named Andy. Woody is the leader of all the toys in Andy’s room and is loved by all.
- Andy: Andy is a young boy who loves playing with his toys, especially Woody. He is excited about his upcoming birthday party.
- Buzz Lightyear: Buzz Lightyear is a new toy that Andy receives for his birthday. He is a space ranger action figure and quickly becomes Andy’s new favorite toy.
- Mr. Potato Head: Mr. Potato Head is a sarcastic and grumpy toy who is jealous of Woody’s position as Andy’s favorite toy.
- Rex: Rex is a timid and insecure toy dinosaur who is afraid of everything.
- Hamm: Hamm is a wise-cracking piggy bank who loves to play pranks on the other toys.

- Slinky Dog: Slinky Dog is a loyal and friendly toy who is always by Woody’s side.
- Andy’s Mom: Andy’s mom is a caring and supportive mother who is always there for her son.
The movie takes a turn when Andy’s family is preparing to move to a new house. Andy’s mom accidentally throws away a few of his toys, including Woody’s hat. Woody is determined to rescue his hat and sneaks into the moving truck, but ends up getting left behind. He manages to catch up to the moving truck, but Buzz falls out of the window and Woody goes back to save him.
Woody and Buzz end up getting left behind at a gas station and they have to find their way back to Andy’s new house. Buzz, who still believes he is a real space ranger, is determined to find a way back to his home planet. Woody, on the other hand, just wants to get back to Andy.
The two toys end up at a pizza restaurant where they meet a group of toys who are led by a toy named Lotso. Lotso seems friendly at first, but it is soon revealed that he is a cruel and manipulative toy who rules over the other toys at the restaurant. Woody and Buzz manage to escape with the help of a toy named Ken, who has a crush on Barbie.
Meanwhile, back at Andy’s house, the other toys are worried about Woody and Buzz and decide to go look for them. They end up at a daycare center where they are welcomed by Lotso and his gang. However, they soon realize that the daycare is not as great as it seems and Lotso is actually a dictator who controls the toys and keeps them from ever being played with by children.
Woody and Buzz reunite with the other toys and together they come up with a plan to escape the daycare and get back to Andy. They face many challenges and obstacles, but with the help of some new friends, including a toy named Trixie, they manage to escape.
In the end, Woody and the other toys make it back to Andy’s new house just in time before he leaves for college. Andy decides to give his toys to a little girl named Bonnie, who will love and play with them just like he did. Woody and Buzz say goodbye to Andy and embrace their new life with Bonnie.
The movie ends with the toys happily playing with Bonnie, knowing that they will always be loved and cherished by her. Toy Story is a heartwarming story about friendship, loyalty, and the importance of being there for the ones you love.
